We’ve already been given juicy details on each of the main four new additions to Torchwood, Rex Matheson, Esther Katusi, Oswald Jones, and Dr Vera Juarez. Now, in the latest edition of Doctor Who Magazine, Russell T Davies has confirmed a few further details on these characters.
He also said of Torchwood and the CIA agents Rex and Esther:
“The two teams coming together is a big part of the story. Are they friends or enemies? There’s a lot of sparks and excitement.”DWM #427 also revealed, for the first time:
“Oswald Jones is a character who is set to be a dark presence in Torchwood: The New World. A murderer and paedophile in his 40s, Jones is a dangerous and clever man. Although he appears to regret his evil past, a rage still boils within him and he is fated to become the centre of terrifying events that will rock the world.”Filming on Torchwood: The New World begins filming in January 2011 and is set to broadcast in Summer 2011.
Seriously? Are you really trying to get us to forget Ianto and get attatched to yet another Jones.. no thank you! Besides, I don't really like Alonso.. I'd only consider watching the new series if either John Hart or Andy Davidson were 'main characters'. You just killed Torchwood -- killing Toshiko, Owen, Ianto and Steven was a very bad idea! -- should've just left Ianto's death as the final denouement.
